About the project
At the center of Something Under the Stairs are a house sitter and a neighbor. Left alone in a large, empty house for three weeks, the house sitter begins to notice something unusual about the cellar. When the owners return three weeks early, they insist the cellar has always been empty.
Roles
- Jordan — Lead · Female · 18-25 · $350/day
Jordan is our house sitter, alone on screen for most of the episode. The challenge is maintaining a natural, believable performance throughout seven days of isolation. Practical and unspooked at first, she gradually stops trusting her own hearing. The tension comes from what she hears and chooses not to investigate.
- Connie — Supporting · Female · 62-78 · $275/day
She is the neighbor. Two scenes, both of which should make the audience colder than any jump. Has watched this house for forty years and will not come past the gate.
- Andrei — Supporting · Male · 35-46 · $275/day
Andrei is our owner on video call, charming, slippery, and always calling from somewhere with bad signal. Every answer creates a new question.
